For a telephone with caller ID feature check Panasonic or Samsung units.

No. In order to receive CID you have to subscribe to it. You can use your computer modem to receive CID after you get CID service from the telco, and bridge a regular phone to the modem at the same time (ie screen pops for ACT, etc.), or you can use hardware to send the data via a series port to your computer.

If you Google CALLER ID SOFTWARE, you’ll get plenty of hits. While this program is not free, it’s $35 http://www.callclerk.com/ and not a terrible deal. You can try it for 30 days before you buy it.

There arent any of those available to the public, they are only used by technicians and vex techs. I dont have it, but the techs and dispatch use that number a lot.

    MCI Caller ID phone number?
ok, heres the deal. The phone system guys was in our office the other day testing our outgoing lines. He was useing speaker phone so i overheard a small bit of what he was doing. He was choosing a line within the phone system then dialing out, a voive camE over the phone saying “MCI blah blah blah, you have dialed from 855-555-5555. ie. Pick up the phone, select Line 2, dial 800something, get a voice telling you the number that you have dialed from. im wondering if this number or a similar one is available to me?

BT Phone: No Caller ID or Friend List?
    Hello,

I have recently went to my new apartment, transferred my line and connected my BT Home Hub 2.0 and the BT Phone. But, it seems that neither the Caller ID and Phone Friend List work @ all. I cannot add or quest any of the saved contacts and Caller ID doesn’t show. I tried to reset the phone, and I am 100% sure that I remember my PIN number, but it says it is incorrect. I am not aware if it is possible to upgrade the firmware of the phone, but according to BT’s website, my Home Hub has the latest firmware.

    Any solutions please? Thank you.

How can I converge all my phone lines for simple access?
I have a regular land line, 2 voip lines, and a cell phone. Is there some way I can make all of the available throughout the house? I can buy a new router, switch voip company’s and/or buy new phones (except for the cell). I was thinking something like an office system, but definately focused at the home user.

The landline is only used as a backup dialup connection and the occasional fax (send/receive), but I want to have simple access to it in case of an emergency.

The landline has no extra features. The 2 voip lines, and cell phone all have caller id, call coming up, voice mail and 3 way calling. I would like the ability to conferece between them, and direct a fax expected on any of the lines (except the cell).

I also have 3 pc’s in the house that all run windows xp home, but only one of them’s on all the time, if there’s a virtual solution.

If I’m asking too much, or it would cost a lot, what about something that comes close. Thanks! :)

Check Staples, Best Buy etc. There are several products on the promote (in the under $50 range) just for that purpose. Remember, your land line phones are all daisy-chained, so all you need is one line to any phone jack to your computer via said device and all the phones become available to be answered on your computer or on a close land phone. The advantage is it lets you make LD calls from any house phone via voip so as not to pay the phone monopoly their outrages rates.
