Hi, I saw online and was referred by a very techie friend to do a search for Caller ID Manager for the home and it seems to look great. You can control all calls coming into your home, send phone numbers to not ring but go directly to your answering machine and much more, just wanted to see if anyone has used it ?

I got one and I love it!!!
I will give you all the info…
I got it from hellodirect….on sale with free shipping!
it works the minute you plug it in! no more 800 numbers, no more telemarketers…
I have MCI and I signed up for the free trial for 3 months.
I downloaded the software at work. It wasn’t as useful as I thought it would be.
As for redirecting the calls, voice mail picks up after 4 rings. By the time you get the alert to your computer, the call is in voice mail.
Also, since I’m an engineer, I’m rarely at my computer at work.
With MCI, you get emails (or texts to your cell) whenever you get a voicemail. That feature is included with the Neighborhood plan, and I find that much more useful.
There were some other features that I didn’t take advantage of:
alerts for Yahoo! emails (I have a Toolbar and Messenger through Yahoo1, which does the same thing but quicker);
alerts for Hotmail (I could care less, it’s all SPAM);
IM features (I use AIM).
Try it out for free and see if it works for you.
